Welcome to the CHS Aviation and Rocketry Club Website...
The Aviation and Rocketry club is a unique club that introduces club members to the basics of aeronautical engineering. The club has weekly meetings in Room 506 afterschool on Mondays from 3:00-4:00pm. We will also have weekend meetings in order to build and test the projects we make throughout the span of the club. ARC members will also have the option to participate in TARC, a national rocketry competition, to apply their knowledge in a competition environment.
In this club you will...
- make several glider ranging in size prototypes
- fly/test the gliders
- make and launch compressed air rockets
- make and launch motored model rockets (several times)
- learn the basics Physics behind all the projects we do
-HAVE FUN!
- compete in TARC
About
The Aviation and Rocketry Club is Cupertino High School's first club to approach the study of aviation and rockets. Throughout this club, we will attempt several projects/builds ranging from simple DIY gliders to more complex projects such as Model Rockets. Throughout the span of the club, you will learn the Physics in relation with these projects as well as different aviation skills. Next year, the ARC officers hope introduce a competition aspect to this club in which students will be given the opportunity to build, test, and launch homemade rockets in the hope of gaining scholarships and meeting the president. This club meets in Room 506 (Mr. Steemer's Room) on Mondays lunch and after-school. We will have a BLAST!
